You’ve probably heard about the Google Home, Amazon’s Echo/Echo Dot and Apple’s HomePod. These devices are all designed to help you control your smart home by talking to them. They connect to your Wi-Fi networks and can be accessed from different devices, including smartphones and tablets. Evidence that increased wearables is associated with lowered work performance

Authors: Brooke L. Ferris, PhD and Alan J. Stein, PhD Synopsis: In their article “Evidence that increased wearables is associated with lowered work performance”, Brooke L. Ferris, PhD and Alan J. Stein, PhD discuss the possible reasons for the correlation between increased wearable use and lower work performance. They posit that decreased work performance could be a result of distractedness from notifications or alerts from wearable devices, reduced focus on tasks due to being constantly aware of personal surroundings, or even reduced productivity as a result of taking breaks to check social media or respond to messages. While it remains unclear which specific types of wearables are most likely to have such an effect, the authors present persuasive research demonstrating that increased wearability is correlated with lowered work performance. Consequently, organizations should be aware of the possibility that increased usage of wearable technology may result in negative consequences for employee productivity and overall effectiveness at work.

On the one hand, athleisurewear seems likely to remain popular as a go-to style for both sexes. Crop top styles are also likely to stick around, especially as summer approaches – after all, who can resist a little skin on display? On the other hand, it’s possible that we could see a return to more traditional dress codes for women – something we definitely saw in 2019. Whether or not this happens largely depends on how the global economy pans out and whether or not people feel more comfortable expressing their personal style in more controlled environments. Ultimately, forecasting fashion trends is a tricky business – but that doesn’t mean we can’t take a stab at it! So while you probably won’t be able to rely on our predictions exactly (every season is unique!), trying our hand at predicting what will happen next season
